August 6 – Santa Maria degli Angeli: information and organizational provisions
SANTA MARIA DEGLI ANGELI – In preparation for the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration on Thursday, August 6, presided over by the Holy Father Leo XIV at the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, the Organizing Committee announces the logistical provisions and access procedures aimed at ensuring the safety and smooth running of the event.
Access to the Basilica and Provisions for Concelebrants
Due to the Basilica’s limited capacity and in compliance with safety regulations, the interior of the Basilica will be entirely reserved for the young participants of the Go! Franciscan Youth Meeting, who have already been duly registered and accredited.
- Liturgical Concelebration: Access to the sanctuary for concelebration is strictly limited to Cardinals, Bishops, and Priests who are already included in the official program of the event and are integrated into its logistics.
- Sacred Vestments: Priests admitted to the concelebration are reminded of the required liturgical provisions: each concelebrant is required to bring his own alb and white stole.
- Priest Accreditation: Please note that no further requests for accreditation to concelebrate from other priests or bishops will be accepted, as the facility has reached its maximum capacity.
Participation of the Faithful in the Square of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli
All pilgrims, faithful, and members of the public who wish to join in prayer with the Holy Father may gather in the Square of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli.
- Big Screens and Entertainment: To allow everyone present to fully and closely follow the Eucharistic Celebration, the square will be equipped with big screens and dedicated sound systems.
- Distribution of Communion: Ministers will be present at various points in the square to ensure that all the faithful can receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
- Participants who wish to participate do not require a pass or registration; access will be available subject to availability.

Information for the Disabled
With great care and respect for everyone’s needs, a reserved area has been set up in the outdoor square, equipped with dedicated services, to ensure the best possible welcome and assistance.
Please note that the spaces and services provided for this specific area are sold out.
Disabled faithful who were unable to register in time will of course be welcome in the square along with all other pilgrims, where they will be able to follow the celebration on large screens, although they will not be able to use the stalls and facilities in the reserved outdoor area.
